4 Google+ Tips for Businesses

Have you set up a Google+ page for your business yet? If not, then it’s about time you did. Because Google’s social network is growing at a breakneck rate. In less than one year of starting, Google+ hit 90 million registered users.

Every business with an online presence knows that Google is important. Because most people find your site through the big G. So if the search engine giant is responsible for bringing you so much exposure, it only makes sense to help it do more by using Google+. In the following article we talk about how your business can make the most out of Google+…

#1: Fill Your Page: First and foremost, you need to create a Google+ page and once you’re done setting it up, you fill out the introduction area. This is where you focus on using the right keywords. Don’t just use keywords that you want to get ranked for, but also those keywords that your customers will use to look for you. Write an introduction that will catch the attention of your target audience.

#2: Add Links: One of the benefits of using Google+ page is that you’re allowed to add a number of links throughout your business page. You need to take advantage of this feature by adding relevant links from your site in the “introduction section”. The idea behind adding these links is to help you get your website found in the search results, and also fetch you referral traffic.

#3: Leverage the Hover Text: When you set up your Google+ profile, you’ll see that you have this unique feature where you can influence what your visitors see when they hover their mouse over your business name. This might happen when they’re responding to a post, searching on one of the topics, etc. For this you’ll need to add a short, interesting where the first five words are turned into hover text. For example, if you’re in the finance/banking field, you could have tagline such as “best savings account rates” or anything relevant.

#4: Promote Your Page: How do you get people to follow on Google+? By letting them know that you have a business page! So right from promoting your page in your email/social media sites to adding a badge to your website, do everything you can to get the word out. Also try to get more and more people to circle you because being in more circles tends to improve your position in Google searches.

Growing a business is not just about getting the best credit deals or raising more funds. It’s also about improving your online presence by leverage platforms like Google+ and reaching out to more of your target audience. That’s how take your business to the next level.
