Enable HTTPS Connection In Twitter To Secure You And Your Tweets

To care about your security, Twitter announced to enable secure connection HTTPS on all its services. Before HTTPS was already enabled on login but now you are able to enable it on all your conversations on Twitter. The main reason behind this action is unsecured WiFi connections and Internet Café where privacy is none and anybody can easily sniff your communication with Twitter. Enabling HTTPS, will make it sure that your all communications with Twitter are secure and unhackable.

we are adding a user setting that lets you always use HTTPS when accessing Twitter.com. Using HTTPS for your favorite Internet services is particularly important when using them over unsecured WiFi connections.

HTTPS connection is always bit lazy because of its encryption and decryption process though Gmail is quite fast but HTTPS makes it sure that you and your communication with the server is safe. This is what Twitter is seeking for now.

Enabling HTTPS connection for all your communication with Twitter servers is very easy. Just Login->Settings->HTTPS Only. You will see a check-box under HTTPS Only option. Mark this check-box and save the settings. From now on, you all conversation with Twitter will be secure. To check that HTTPS connection is active or not, simple check the web-address (URL), if you see https instead of http, it is working.

To turn on HTTPS, go to your settings and check the box next to “Always use HTTPS,” which is at the bottom of the page. This will improve the security of your account and better protect your information if you’re using Twitter over an unsecured Internet connection, like a public WiFi network, where someone may be able to eavesdrop on your site activity. In the future, we hope to make HTTPS the default setting.
