I was reading BBC and found an interesting piece of news. A couple of days ago, NTT Docomo claimed for slimmest phone which has not been released though. The phone will be called Card Keitai and known by KY-01L. It will cost almost €243. It is said it can easily fit in any credit card holder. The price tag is huge for what this phone offers.

Technically, Card Keitai KY-01L it is a basic phone with touch screen, which looks like an electric paper, and no color but grey or kind of.  It can call and text. There will be no camera at all. So, the question of selfie is does not exists. The Card Keitai KY-01L will be 5.3mm fat. A phone with almost no functions and that thick is being claimed the slimmest phone. Let’s see is it the slimmest phone or do we have more advanced smartphones slimmer that Card Keitai KY-01L.

Oppo R5 and Oppo R5s are 2014’s smartphones. Both phones have AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, camera and fully working internet browsing. But there was no 3.5mm connector. Both phones are even slimmer than NTT Docomo’s Card Keitai KY-01L. Oppo R5 and Oppo R5s are only 4.9mm thick compared to 5.3mm thick Card Keitai KY-01L. Then there is Vivo V5Max which is even slimmer than Oppo at only 5.1mm thick. It got Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen.

Then in 2016, Motorola released Moto Z. It was the base design for today’s beautiful phones by Motorola. It was also slimmer than Card Keitai. Moto Z was only 5.2mm thick which is 0.1mm less than Japanese phone. I bet if Motorola wanted, they can produce a high quality model of Moto Z in the size of Card keitai.

I did not put iPhone models and Samsung Galaxy Note as well as S series in comparison. Because, these phones are heavy duty phones and are designed for extra workload. Because of the purpose of these phones, they are thick. Surprisingly, iPhone is comparatively thicker than Galaxy Note and Galaxy S series if we consider headphone jack and battery capacity.

I just wanted to say whatever once goes live on internet can never be removed. It is always there forever. NTT Docomo should not claim what is not their. It can also be not a smartphone if it has no quality found in today’s smartphone.
