All Autodesk Software Free for Students & Educators [iOS, Android, Mac, Windows]

In fact, for very long time Autodesk was being known because of AutoCAD. But now its portfolio is huge and they are developing a huge number of specialized software for architecture, construction, manufacturing, engineering, film and television industry. All major companies uses one or the other software from Autodesk, specially AutoCAD is the most famous computer-aided-design (CAD) software being used by architects, engineers, drafting, modeling and examining the structure, etc.

Many of Autodesk’s software are available for all major platforms e.g. iOS, Android, Mac, Windows. On Android, I have used Autodesk SketchBook, SketchBook Express and Pixlr Express. I used my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with the help of S Pen, and not any other stylus, to learn a little bit of sketching.

List of free available software from Autodesk is huge which includes AutoCAD (all), 3ds Max, 3ds Max Design, A360, Advance Concrete, Advance Steel, FX, Fusion 360, Maya, Mockup 360, Pixlr Express, Robot Structural Analysis Professional, Softimage, VRED Professional and many others. You will get latest releases and there is no cost but download time depending upon your internet speed. Check the following image for the full list of available software from Autodesk.

In the article title, I mentioned students and educators but in reality there is no such restriction. You will be asked to write the name of your institution, your study status, country, email, etc. Write anything you want. There is no check and balance. I tried Yahoo email, German school name with Sweden as country and it worked. I was just testing it, so, please do not abuse the system. Autodesk has mentioned four steps to do to get free software:

1. Select your chosen product from the list below
2. Select Sign In or Create Account
3. Select the version, operating system and language
4. Install

Before proceeding, please know that the license is valid for 3 years. After that you may need to buy the license. Go to the following web address, click on the Autodesk product you want, you will be directed to the new page. There you will have two options. If you already have Autodesk account, you can login or you can create new account. After creating new account, you need to activate it from email. Once it is activated, you can download and/or use cloud services free of cost from Autodesk.
