Kingsoft Office Suite 2012 Released As Freeware

I do not understand how should I start this article. The reason is such software is the need of everybody but there are only a very limited number of vendors, in fact a few suites, can be seen in this field. Three or four are shareware and two or three are freeware. The good news is one shareware is now available freeware: Kingsoft Office Suite Free 2012. Just sometime back, it was used to be a high priced software. If you can not afford MS Office and do not want to use OpenOffice or LibreOffice, you may try Kingsoft Office Suite 2012. It still has old look but features are new.

If you are a student, teacher, home user or small business personal, Kingsoft Office Suite Free 2012 can save your money. It contains Writer, Presentation and Spreadsheets. All the three applications are feature rich and are fully compatible with MS Office. Kingsoft Office 2012 can open documents created in MS Office 2007 and 2010 and you can edit those documents.You can not edit new MS Office file format (stef). It can also open and edit the documents created by old MS Office applications. I have just installed it and I am thinking to give it a go. So far, looking at features, Kingsoft Office Suite Free 2012 may be a good replacement of MS Office if you do not want OpenOffice or LibreOffice.

One feature, which is missing in all Microsoft Office Suites and we still do not see any sign of it, is multiple document tabs. Because of these tabbed documents editing, the work is speedy and smooth. You do not need to open separate windows for each document. For example, if you are opening 4 text documents, you will open four different instances of MS Office but in Kingsoft Office, you can open all four documents in four different tabs but under one window. For MS Office, you need special add-on about which I will write some other day.
