The main purpose behind using tablet is to make computing easy but so far there are no signs that tablets can replace computers in near future. This is simple because there are lots of things which we can not do on tablets like programming, doing professional graphics n designing, professional software usage. More seriously coding, hacking and cracking can not be done on tablets. There are a lot more reasons why tablet is far from replacing computer but talking this matter is not the scope of this article. Most of the people uses tablets just to watch videos and surf the web though I have seen a few who used tablets for presentations and that’s all. But the goal for which tablets are designed, is far from accomplishment. Even using virtual keyboard is headache. Hopefully (just hope), we may see replacing computers with tablets after half decade.

Though, it does not seem tablets can replace computers in near future but technology advancement is rapid and tablets are becoming more and more powerful. Just look at it and see that ASUS is taking pre-orders for its first (might be world’s first if HTC does not release its quad-core before ASUS) Quad-Core ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime. I think iPad 3 will have quad core but it will not come before mid of next year. And by the end of next year, we may see Hexa-Core and, if got lucky, Octa-Core processors in tablets from different vendors.

ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime will have quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 Mobile Processor clocked at 1.3GHz. ASUS Eee Pad will also have 1GB DDR2 RAM, 12 hours Polymer 25W/h battery, dimension 10.35″x7.12″x0.33″ with 1.29lbs weight. ASUS Eee Pad will be available in two colors: Amethyst Gray and Champagne Gold. It will have Android 3.2 Honeycomb but they have promised to upgrade it to latest Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich. ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime has two models, TF201-B1 has 32GB storage and TF201-C1 has 64GB. It will also have MicroSD card reader, Micro HDMI port and unlimited free web storage space (conditional) for a year for easy sharing & expandability.

Equipped with the Super IPS+ panel that’s made of Corning®Gorilla® Glass with 178° ultra-viewing angle, the Eee Pad Transformer Prime’s screen resolution and brightness has also been enhanced to make it easier than ever to read outside in the sun. 8MP rear camera with flash, back-illuminated CMOS sensor and large aperture design ensures that every precious moment is being captured while 1.2MP front camera allows for vivid video conferencing. You can browse the web and play 1080p HD video at blazing speeds.

At the moment pre-order is only available for USA and Canada. You can find more and place ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime Quad-Core pre-order here:
