I have not installed mAloud on my PC and I am not sure if I am gonna do it. But according to little description on the mAloud page, it seems it works only in browser. I do not know if it works in Outlook or Mail or in any mail-type app. I am also not sure which browser it will work with. But the good thing is it can read 15 languages and speak for you. The languages are:

  • English (United States)
  • Deutsch (Deutschland)
  • Español (España, Alfabetización Internacional)
  • Français (France)
  • Italiano (Italia)
  • 日本語 (日本)
  • 한국어(대한민국)
  • Nederlands (Nederland)
  • Polski (Polska)
  • Português (Brasil)
  • Русский (Россия)
  • Svenska (Sverige)
  • Türkçe (Türkiye)
  • 中文(中国)
  • Norsk Bokmål (Norge)

There is no UK English in the list. Also Australian, New Zealand, or any other accent is absent. It would not be difficult to add those variations of English language. mAloud works on Xbox One, Windows PC, HoloLens, Windows Mobile and Hub.

mAloud needs a few permissions to work correctly. But one permission of webcam use feels strange. Why it needs that permission? All permissions are:

  • Use your webcam
  • Use your microphone
  • Access your Internet connection
  • Use data stored on an external storage device
  • backgroundMediaPlayback
  • Access your home or work networks

mAloud Features:

  • Listen to the web with mAloud: articles, news, blogs, web email, product reviews, wikipedia, etc. you name it. Tap on a paragraph and click play to start listening.
  • Play, fast forward, pause and rewind between paragraphs so you have absolute control of how you listen to the web.
  • Save website for later offline use
  • Share the websites you liked with your social networks.
