PNGGauntlet enables you to compress PNG images to reduce their file size without quality loss. The program combines three Open Source utilities (PNGOUT, OptiPNG, and DeflOpt) into an easy to use interface that supports drag & drop and allows you to customize the advanced conversion options for each of the tools used.

The average size reduction we’ve seen in our tests was about 10%, with some as much as 30% and others with no reduction at all. Your results will vary based on the images and whether they have already been optimized to some degree. Although the size reductions are moderate, they can amount to significant overall savings if you are reducing a large number of images.
PNGGauntlet can also convert and compress JPG, GIF, TIFF and BMP files to PNG.
