Avast Free Antivirus 7, Avast Pro Antivirus 7 & Avast Internet Security 7 Final Release
Within two weeks from the release of beta releases of all Avast security software (Antivirus 7, Antivirus Pro 7 and Internet Security 7), they have released final versions of Avast Free Antivirus 7, Avast Pro Antivirus 7 & Avast Internet Security 7. These new versions have new features as well as upgraded features. Writing of all three versions will make this article very lengthy. I will be talking about only Avast Free Antivirus 7.
Avast Free Antivirus 7 has real-time cloud based virus signatures updates. It is not like a regular bulk update containing multiple virus signatures which takes time before release and meanwhile many computers become victims but all signatures updates goes to AVAST Virus Lab cloud from where your Avast Free Antivirus 7 get real time updates to give you perfect real time protection.
One other feature for which we normally use TeamViewer is Remote Assistance. This features enables one Avast user to get help from other Avast user without calling other to one’s place. This is good if you need urgent help. Go to Additional Protection and then Remote Assistance. You will see two big buttons Allow Remote Control and Control Remote Computer. If someone is seeking your help, you need to use Control Remote Computer and if you need help, use Allow Remote Control. Remember, your security code is private and only be given to one whose help is sought. Well, though your computer is being controlled through Remote Assistance, you will have a small window open just above the Taskbar where you can cancel remote assistance anytime. There are malwares which only acts under special conditions. In this case File Reputation checkup in Avast Free Antivirus 7 could be a good defense tool for protection.
Avast introduced Compatibility Installation which enables you to use Avast as 2nd line of defense. This is really a great feature which you can not find in any other traditional antivirus. Using Avast as 2nd line of defense gives you maximum security which you ever wanted against viruses, spywares, malwares, trojans, rootkits, etc. But you may have to compromise computer performance because of dual scanning. I have used this Avast Free Antivirus 7 Final and Beta with Avira Free Antivirus 12 (2012) and both are working fine. This is the only feature which motivated me to write about Avast Free Antivirus 7 Beta release otherwise I just ignore beta releases. Compatibility Installation feature is available on Windows 7 but not available on Windows XP as I have installed it with Avira Free Antivirus 12 on Windows XP Professional x64. Remember, installing it with any other antivirus on Windows XP may halt your computer. Avast Free Antivirus 7 is free but advanced antivirus. If you are not an advanced user, you should not worry about its advanced features, just install it and forget it. But if you want to change the settings according to your needs, go ahead and Avast Free Antivirus will not disappoint you. Read more and download from here:

Antivirus and anti-spyware engine: Innovative scanning engine protects against viruses, spyware, and other malicious agents.
Real-time anti-rootkit protection: Prevents stealth malware (‘rootkits’) that, when loaded by the computer’s OS, are invisible to ordinary scanners.
Boot-time scanner: Scans your computer for infections before the OS can start to activate any viruses beneath it (now applies to Windows 7 and Windows Vista).
AutoSandbox: Prompts users to run suspicious applications in the virtual Sandbox environment.
Intelligent Scanner: Reduces the number of required file scans up to 80% through a white list of safe applications. Files identified as safe are not rescanned unless they change.
Silent/Gaming Mode: Automatically detects full-screen applications and disables pop-ups and other notifications without compromising security.
Green computing: Leaves a minimal “footprint” due to its efficient and effective technology.
File System Shield: Real-time scanning of opened/executed files.
Mail Shield: Scans all incoming/outgoing email for malware (a special plug-in is used for MS Outlook).
Web Shield: Scans all visited web pages, downloaded files, and java scripts. Thanks to the intelligent stream scanning feature, the Web Shield doesn’t slow your web browsing.
P2P Shield/IM Shield: Checks files downloaded via P2P programs and while using IM or “chat” programs.
Network Shield: Protects against network-based viruses with two main components: a URL blocker for malicious URLs, and a lightweight intrusion-detection system.
Script Shield: Detects malicious scripts hidden in web pages and prevents them from hijacking and potentially damaging your computer.
Behavior Shield: Stops ‘zero-day’ threats and unknown malware before virus definitions have been obtained.
Windows 8 Beta compatible: avast! 7 runs great on Windows 8 and even has some cool new Windows 8 specific features, such as the Early-Load Antimalware Driver (ELAM), which snaps into the Windows 8 Secure Boot process to provide additional protection against system-level rootkits and bootkits.
