If you have installed Windows 8 Developer Preview and looking for security software, you may try NSS.

Norman Security Suite installation went smooth and it took less than 50 seconds on Windows XP (AMD Athlon X2, 1.5GB RAM, 512MB Graphic Card). This means installation was quicker than Norton AV which claims One Minutes Installation but in fact takes almost two minutes to complete installation because of installation of additional services. I did not test Norman AV but I did test Norman SS integrated firewall at GRC.com. Well, good news is the firewall passed the test and it did not show any port open.

Though I am not inspired with Norman SS security but accessibility to all its features is quite easy. If you look at the photo of main interactive window of Norman SS, it is very simple and gives user more power to communicate with Norman SS. It’s divided into two main panes. Right wide pane will show you all the features in detail while left narrow pane will show you iconic menu with titles. We can say NSS has simple interactive layout. There is no feature hidden under deep steps of interaction. You click on any menu item, it will expand downwards showing you all the features of that particular menu item in left narrow pane. In right wide pane, you will see those features details. The quite simple layout is a plus point regarding accessibility view of Norman Security Suite.

Norman Security Suite uses lazy-load. When Windows starts, NSS let loads all the services and software and then loads itself. It is quite dangerous. I do not see any setting to do quick-load instead of lazy-load. One more thing, you interaction with NSS is also time-consuming. You open a menu of click on a feature for further details, it take a bit extra time to open. Well, it is not much noticeable but with high-end machines, this should not be.
