GMail is the most famous web based email service among home users as well as corporate users. There are also a many universities which have started using GMail instead of there their own email services. GMail is widely adopted because of number of reason among them are strong email security protection preventing email hacking, best spam filter, easy n speedy and smooth email service load, email account owner verification through different measures like phone verification and many other features. And of course, not telling that it is from search engine giant Google would be injustice.
Google is really trying hard to replace most of third party services on internet with its own services like email, social network, online document service, news readers, video hosting, book store, musics store and many other services. The latest but major step was the introduction of Google+: a social networking site. Many writers just tried to dim Google+ by putting it as copy of Facebook. They forgot Facebook is also a stolen idea. Well, this is not the talk of the day. There are many features which are common among Google+ and Facebook but there are many features which were first introduce by Google+ and copied by Facebook like famous video conferencing which let 10 people do free video conference at a time. Skype only gives one-to-one free video conference and ooVoo let 6 people do free video conference. I think, Google+ has over 75 million users by now.
One more month is passed. There are two views about time passing. One says that we lived one more month, the other says one month is wiped from our life time. Well, no discussion about it. If you are new here, for your information that we have started this Monthly RoundUp to tell you about all the articles published during the very last month. This is a good way to tell you what you have missed if you have. This is also some sort of warning for us what we need to do more. Previously, during many months, shareware promos were at top and that was the most discussed topic. But in recently passed month, January 2012, we changed the tone and tried to share freewares as well as some tips and tricks about Windows OS and also tried to discuss hardware. This Monthly RoundUp is also good for new-comers because then they can know previously what have been shared on ComputeLogy. Clicking on any topic will take you to the article opened in new browser window.

If you have missed any article, it will be a resource for you to find it out what did you miss. During last months, we published 27 articles and let me say that it was a busy month regarding our activities. Well it was busy month for most of the tech sites because almost every site was trying to cover it up what has happened during the year of 2011 and what are they expecting in 2012. Well, year 2012 is just started and a long year still remaining to know about techs. At the moment, let’s see what we did on ComputeLogy in the previous month: December 2011. If you are new here, for your info that we have started Monthly RoundUP where, as said earlier, I write at the start of month about what we did in last month.
If we ask our elders how they were used to have distance communication, you will get the answer: by letters. Yes, paper letter. If you look around your home, you may find a pile of letters; old letters which your elders have received from family and friends. You may also notice that those letters are in an arranged manner to make it easy find out the one if needed later. Keeping letters in an arranged stack is a little fun. I have seen these archives on number of times at my home and at friends home. But now era is changed and people are forgetting to write letters. We have adopted alternatives: web based mails called email.

Recently, hackers were able to breach into DigiNotar in Netherlands and they have had issued hundreds of SSL certificates for popular sites like Gmail.com, Facebook.com, Yahoo.com, etc etc. Google and Mozilla could act as fast as possible and they removed the DigiNotar from their browsers as trusted authority. Though both were quick to respond this threat but they say, there were hundreds of Gmail accounts in Iran which were compromised.
