PDF document format is always the first choice for cross-platform documents exchange. It might be the cheapest but best way when a document is shared on different platforms like Linux, Mac OS X, Windows, Symbian, iOS, Android or any other. All the different platform users get the same PDF document without any damage. This is just because PDF is also a worldwide standard. Though it has lots of benefits over other doc types but there is a big problem. You can not edit your PDF files if you do not have any PDF editor. Suppose you have PDF editor but the PDF file is not a true PDF, then still you can not edit the file but some other functions can be used like highlighting, underlining, commenting, etc.
Being not able to edit PDF files, you have the option to convert them into other doc type like .doc, .txt, .html, etc. After converting to other format, it becomes easy to edit the converted file. For example, you can use freeware OpenOffice, LiberOffice, Kingsoft Office to edit .doc files. You can edit .txt files with default text editor because every OS has at least one default text editor. If you know HTML, you can edit your such files using any text editor. PDFZilla is one tool which makes it easy for you to convert your PDF files into other formats like .doc, .txt, .html, .swf and image.
