Download Norman Security Suite v8 DnBNOR Special Edition and Receive 4 Years’ Worth of Protection!

Norman is an antivirus company that has one of the oldest history known in the industry but its influence is totally gone as it fell behind and got outdated ever since the early 2000s. I once use their v5.7 antivirus and it was a pathetic experience. Nevertheless, their latest version, Norman Security Suite v8 seems to have far more positive reviews than previous few versions i’ve known. You can read one of the reviews here.

Now you can try out this new antivirus free of charge, for 4 years straightout; no license keys needed: all you got to do is to download the DnBNOR Special Edition installer from here and install it! The DnBNOR Special Edition of Norman discarded certain features such as the Intrusion Guard, Privacy Tools and AntiSpam module from being free but users will still have the Antivirus and Antispyware protection feature, the all-new Norman Personal Firewall and Parental Control for 4 years worth. That is quite a sufficient protection level for most users out there.

I tested Norman Security Suite v8 DnBNOR Special Edition on my virtual machine and well, i think it is a pretty excellent suite although i did not test its effectiveness against malwares. It has a pretty solid look, is quite stable and much more responsive compared to previous version. One open of the task manager and i realized that Norman has also started separating its security processes into many clutters (similar with F-Secure and G DATA) so as to increase responsiveness and prevent crashes from bringing down the entire suite. Smart thinking, Norman!

Verdict: I would say it is a solid suite to keep and remember, it is also the first Norman product to officially support Windows 7!

So grab your chance while you can. After all, how many antivirus software vendors out there are as kind as to offer us 4 years’ worth of free protection nowadays?

pcmag found the program "disappointing"

Norman may not be of that standard what it has had but do remember, it is very old security software. That’s why it is still in the market.

If you search the web for more review of Norman you’d found out that some may say it is good/improved, some may say it is disappointing. If you read the other comments, you’ll notice that while i found Norman working fine, Donald has found it terrible. Of course, in the case of such mixed reviews,… Read more »

I always enjoy this blog, and I really appreciate all of the great free software promos you offer your readers. That said , I can't understand why you would recommend a security suite (" i think it is a pretty excellent suite"), and in the same sentence , state " i did not test its effectiveness against… Read more »

I mentioned that ‘I think it is a pretty excellent suite’ in the context of Norman’s products alone; notice that in my article i did not run comparison with other security software. That is supported by the fact that i’ve tested the suite and found it much more stable and user-friendly compared with previous version… Read more »

Nope. I did not ask or care about it being  pretty, or old, or DnBNOR in the name. These were mentioned because they are you mentioned them in the article . As you did not test the so-called "Security Suite" for any security abilities, it seemed quite possible one or all of them might be… Read more »

Just a clarification … that last question about the ad was rhetorical. I appreciate the heads-up about free software. I just think you should avoid making such positive recommendations for an untested product.

Imran K

No offense, but it seems like you’re misunderstanding my area of focus for this article’s positive recommendation. Well, i couldn’t have made myself much more plainer. Yes, i do not test the suite’s effectiveness against malwares, but then if you read the article carefully, i did not praise it as being an “excellent suite” in… Read more »

And you had already got it wrong when you said that i am making positive recommendations for an ‘untested product’: just because i didn’t test its malware detection capabilities doesn’t mean thati didn’t do any testing, for one thing. I admit that my recommendation can be a tad too positive but i must correct you… Read more »

"quite a sufficient protection level…a pretty excellent suite…i did not test its effectiveness against malwares…a solid suite to keep…better software is out there for free…Yes, i do not test the suite’s effectiveness against malwares…it seems like you are confused about the meaning of ‘protection level’ …just because i didn’t test its malware detection capabilities…i did… Read more »

Don’t be ridiculous. Go back to the article and read it again: I didn’t say that Norman is the best of all antiviruses out there even though i say it has improved. I have also told you comment after comment, my recommendation is focus upon improved general performance, which is one of the factor that… Read more »
